What a Ratcheting Screwdriver Actually Improves
A ratcheting screwdriver does not make a screw easier to turn; it reduces how often you have to reposition your hand. The handle can move back and forth while the bit continues driving in only one direction, which is particularly helpful in tight spaces or when you have many fasteners to remove.
For occasional household work, a solid ratchet mechanism and a sensible set of common bits matter more than having dozens of exotic attachments.
