What a Hygrometer Tells You About a Room
A hygrometer measures relative humidity, which makes it useful when a room feels unusually dry, damp, or uncomfortable but you cannot tell how much of that impression is real. It can help you see whether a humidifier is doing anything, whether a basement stays damp, or whether indoor air changes significantly with the weather.
The inexpensive digital versions are not laboratory instruments, but they are usually good enough for noticing trends and large differences from room to room.
