I was immediately impressed by the stunning design of this gorgeous portable Bluetooth speaker. From the unassuming natural sand color to the skillful use polished bamboo, this head turner can really attract attention, and not just because it’s beautiful. This tiny speaker actually sounds great, too!
Personal Bluetooth speakers are a dime a dozen or so it seems, but this little gem really showcases outstanding industrial design and an eye for aesthetics. They’ve combined the attractive appearance with a completely functional user experience. It’s clear the designers of this must-have personal Bluetooth speaker poured tremendous effort and creativity into its design, achieving a result that is both visually striking and gives real life to your music through advanced acoustical engineering.

By combining luscious form with innovative function, House of Marley has set a new standard of quality in the “personal carry” class of Bluetooth speakers, and I am really impressed by the quality and ingenuity they put into this delightful little personal speaker.
They really nailed it by incorporating bamboo into the design, bringing both style and sustainability to the forefront. Bamboo is an ideal choice, not only for its beautiful, natural appearance and acoustical properties, but also for its eco-friendly status, as it is a fast-growing, renewable resource with minimal environmental impact. The bamboo front panel adds a unique warmth and elegance, and combined with the creamy recycled plastic housing and fabric wrist strap, they’ve achieved a sophisticated look that feels connected to nature. Their choice reflects a commitment to both quality and responsible material sourcing, resulting in a product that is as beautiful and durable as it is sustainable. Bravo on making such a conscious, impactful design decision! I would really like to see more companies be so bold.

Having a solar panel built in to a Bluetooth speaker is a nice feature because it helps extend battery life and does, over time, provide a charge. That means as long as you’ve got sunlight, you’ve got music—no need to worry about hunting for outlets or carrying extra cables. Solar is not going to recharge your speaker in two hours but it will extend your playtime if you’re outdoors. Beyond convenience, the solar panel adds a new level of sustainability to this market segment, allowing you to rely on renewable energy rather than always plugging in to the grid. It’s a smart, eco-friendly twist that makes your speaker not just a piece of tech but also a companion for any adventure.
From the House of Marley website:
House of Marley's eco-conscious identity was created in collaboration with the Marley family to carry on Bob Marley's legacy of love for music and planet. Our philosophy is built around the themes of sustainability and commitment to charitable causes, particularly those related to the environment.
Roots Solar by House of Marley exemplifies sustainable design, with every material for this bluetooth speaker carefully chosen to reduce environmental impact, right down to the tie-wrap used to bundle the fabric-covered power cord. Renewable resources like bamboo and recycled plastics are used throughout, adding natural beauty while minimizing waste. The designers prioritized materials with a low carbon footprint, such as sustainably harvested bamboo and eco-friendly fabrics, made from recycled water bottles. By thoughtfully selecting and sourcing sustainable materials, this design demonstrates a commitment to the planet, offering consumers a high-quality product they can feel good about using.

My ears aren’t what they used to be but I still think this product sounds amazing for its size. I have listened to voice programs and a wide range of music and everything has sounded quite good. It has good bass punch without being muddy, which tends to be a problem with a lot of these smaller ported speakers.
There is a tremendous amount of speaker travel but it maintains its composure pretty well at higher volumes, especially for a speaker of its size. Personally I would like more high frequency response but I really cannot complain. This is a fantastic speaker with a loud, clear voice and enough thump to give life to your music.
